What’s involved in a Tasmanian elopement with Celebrant Jess?

I create beautiful elopement ceremonies for interstate and overseas couples wanting to travel to Tasmania for their wedding. Arrive in Tasmania knowing everything you need for your ceremony has been taken care of, and all you need to do is turn up.

If planning a wedding that involves inviting your cousins you never speak to, sorting out seating plans and your mum micromanaging every aspect fills you with dread instead of joy, consider a plane ticket to Tasmania and a quiet, romantic wedding with you and your love, me, and two witnesses.

Here’s what’s included when you elope with Celebrant Jess

  • I’ll provide a quote for a ceremony that satisfies your requirements (often my Short and Sweet package is perfect for you).

  • I can provide witnesses (there’s a small fee for this).

  • I communicate with you online, and over video calls to get our Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) completed. I walk you through this and make it as easy as possible.

  • We plan a beautiful ceremony and a create a script for your approval. Including personal vows if you want them, rings, and any other elements to make your wedding perfect for you.

  • We may meet the day before, or just on the day. I turn up with my signing table, all the paperwork and the script on my e-reader.

  • Need a photographer? Olivia Brown Photography and I work on many elopements together. However I also work with many other talented photographers in this state. Olivia can also be one of your witnesses.

  • I can suggest locations that have no fee. Want to get married at a waterfall? A garden? On the beach? I’ve married couples at airbnbs, on the beach, on a clifftop and at the Hobart waterfront.

  • Top secret? No problem, I won’t share any pictures on social media without your permission.

Can you suggest locations for elopements in Tasmania?

Yes absolutely. Whether you’re after a beach wedding, a wedding at your airbnb, a secluded waterfall or a garden, my experience with eloping couples means I have a great bank of ideas to suit your vibe and style.

What is the legal process for an elopement?

We need to complete the Notice of Intended Marriage at least one month before your elopement, you must show me your ID documents (eg. birth certificate and driver’s license), and evidence of any previous marriages ending.

Prior to the wedding there is a little more paperwork to complete, but we can do this on the day if required.

You also require two witnesses, which I can organise for you

The ceremony must contain the legal required wording, but we can add in whatever else you’d like to make it feel personal to you

We are after a complete elopement package in Tasmania?

I work closely with Olivia Brown Photography and we’ve worked on many elopements together. Between the two of us you can have your romantic wedding ceremony, plus 15 edited couples photos, just the two of you. Then I’m happy to recommend somewhere special for dinner afterwards!
